The Good Ol' Days

Today I went back to Junior High.
THE Junior High I attended some 15-ish years ago (man. that makes me feel old).

Since I don't have a teaching job and I really miss the classroom, I contacted the Home Ec teacher at my alma mater to see if I could assist in her classroom.

Luckily it isn't the same teacher I had many moons ago. She didn't like me much.

Nor I, her.

My friends laugh at the fact that I am now a Home Ec teacher. Weird how life turns out, isn't it?
There are a few teachers that are still teaching there though- I tried my best to avoid them. I was asked if I wanted to go to the teacher's lounge.

NOPE. too scary.

Who knows who might be in there.

My old science teacher- who we called Q-tip. Because he was tall and skinny and had curly hair. That his mom permed every few months.

Or my gym teacher who tortured me by making me run worlds. Which literally felt like we were running around the world.

Being in a sewing classroom felt good. I miss the kids.

And their excitement of using a sewing machine for the first time.

And them talking while you are trying to teach.

And giving them the "teacher look" so they will stop.

Bath and Body Works has been fun. We just opened on Monday. Apparently we had the biggest opening of all BBW in the world (which is only U.S. and Canada. But still.)

And it has been a steady craziness since.

A girl came in that looked like a friend I had in Junior High. I wasn't sure if it was her. I was hoping she would pay with a credit card so I could see her name. She paid with cash.

I didn't say anything. Now I wish I did.

Gotta go to bed. I am going back to Junior High again tomorrow. Should I wear my banana clip and hyper color shirt? I never had one but boy did I want one.

It is weird going back to your old schools when you're an adult and a "peer"! So I know the feeling. I did have a hyper color shirt...a purple one....in fact, I spent ALL of my school money on it...well I did get other clothes, but it was the only thing I could buy with my own money, I should say.

I'm glad you're back in the classroom, even if you're not getting paid. Glad you're enjoying BBW. Sounds like a mad house! Oh, and don't feel bad for not asking that chick's name...remember my Jay story of a few years ago while being in Rexburg? If ever you regret it, think back on that story...I now regret the approach! UGH!

Oh, and I need your suggestions on my blog about activity ideas...you're creative! Thanks!
