Happy Pancake Day!

I love Pancake Day! Growing up we always had pancakes on pancake day... I never really realized it was a real day with a real story (check out the link above!). I thought I had missed it but thanks to my sister Andrea, I found out I hadn't. I thought about it all day today but also kept forgetting! On my way home from work I was trying to think what to have for dinner! What a joy it was when I remembered it's PANCAKE DAY! I made yummy pancakes with yogurt instead of oil! And then topped them with yogurt and peaches- YUM! But I had to have one with peanut butter and syrup- double YUM!

The greatest pie EVER!

Every Sunday after church my ward munches and mingles! Well today's munchies were pie and ice cream. I am not the biggest pie fan... infact I could say I almost hate pie! I have eaten way too much of it in my life. This guy- Tim- brought the most amazing pie EVER! I have been converted. It is called Kentucky Derby pie! As soon as I get a recipe for it I will post it. Amazing! He described it as unbaked cookie dough in a pie.... sounds weird... yes... tasty...YES! One taste and you are hooked. I think I am getting the Kentucky Derby pie shakes! Yum, yum, yum!

I Heart NY

Here is a picture of me on my latest and probably greatest adventure thus far! I went to the Big Apple to visit my friend Rachel for American Thanksgiving. We were seeing NYC the cheap way so didn't ride the ferry that takes you close up to the Statue of Liberty. We rode the Staten Island Ferry (free) to get a little closer to the real Statue but my pictures were horrible! I need a new camera! But this is probably one of my favorite pictures of the whole trip! These guys just stand in Battery Park (where the S of L is) and allow you to pose with them. They didn't have a sign saying how much to pay... so I was a little hesitant. But after watching a few people do it, I went for it. They didn't ask for any money but I slipped a dollar into the box! The best dollar I spent! It was worth the laughs!
