Okay....

I am sorry to my 2 readers for taking so long to post something! Like I said... I live a boring life! yikes. Plus I have been waiting for something... but it hasn't happened yet but better soon! But I need advice! I have a display case at school that I like to "do". Right now it is full of Got Milk! posters. The librarian asked me I wanted some library books to put in it! i thought that could be fun but I am trying to think of a fun saying, quote or title that could go with books about food! So that is where I need your help. I am trying to think and can't do it on my own. The only thing I have thought of is to go off the saying "the second best thing you can do with you lips" so something like reading, the second best thing you can do with food! But it doesn't sound right! HELP! Let me know your thoughts! Thanks!

Canadian = hockey expert

Last night my ward went to a hockey game for FHE! The Washington Capitals were playing the Montreal Canadiens. I was WAY excited for a Canadian team to be playing. It was a lot of fun to be there... even if our seats were the 3 row from the VERY top!! I never knew that being a Canadian meant I needed to be a hockey expert. Within the first 10 minutes of the game I had 4 people ask me about rules of the game. When I told them I didn't know, their response was, "Aren't you Canadian, you are supposed to know EVERYTHING about hockey!" Sheesh! I did ask one girl if she knew everything about baseball (supposedly an American sport) and she said that she did know alot.... well that didn't work as well as I thought. But come on... who doesn't know the rules of baseball. You hit the ball and run. I don't know about penalties and the markings on the ice and all that jazz. I really should write a book of everything a Canadian needs to know before moving to the U.S... hmmmm.... I could make millions. Ha ha! (And in case you were wondering, I didn't take the picture... I wish!!) But fights really are the best part about a hockey game!

She's the Man

Loved it! Loved it! Loved it! I was a wild woman yesterday
and went to see a movie! Crazy I know! (I've only seen 3 movies- in the theater- since I have lived here!) Sad I know!
My friend Martha called me, wanting to get out of the house. We had seen the commercials for this movie and thought it looked funny so decided to go for it. I think I laughed harder (and louder) than anyone else in the theater! So funny and just cute. The typical teen movie with a cute story. Loved it and would recommend it to anyone who has a sense of humor. Plus the guy (Tatum Channing) is a babe! Yowza!

My Second Home

Here is my second home... also known as... my classroom. I seriously feel like I live here! It isn't as fun (or organized) as I would like it to be... but we are very limited in what we can hang up... nothing 3 feet from or hanging from the ceiling, has to be a few feet from the door, etc! I don't have much wall space either. I've been in some classrooms where there are posters EVERYWHERE and I don't like that. But my walls are too bare. But it is hard to find fun posters about sewing! And there are too many out there with cats and dogs dressed up as kids with cheesy sayings. NO THANKS! I did have the kids draw pictures of different families and hung up some... This one makes me laugh. It is of a childless couple and the man is saying "I'm happy!" Ha ha! A girl drew one of a single person and said she was "completely depressed because she was ugly and no one would date her." Nice! Why can't single people be happy too? Oh well... at least I have 2 homes!

You can't always get what you want!

Why is it that you always want what you don't have! My family has gotten SOO much snow this last week... and I have been having 25-30 degree Celsius (70-80 degree fahrenheit) weather! I really want snow, and they really want warm weather. Sheesh. I don't know why I want snow, maybe so I can have just one more snow day- they shut down EVERYTHING if there is even talk of snow here! I think I also feel cheated out of a good winter. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE warm weather, but I also LOVE snow! And a day off would be marvelous! I guess I will just appreciate what I do have and remember how I feel now the next time I am walking or driving through snow!

Gum...

We only had school until 10:50 today! Our classes were only 18 minutes long. We did a career test yesterday on the computers and today we learned how to fill out job application forms. Fun times. We had a short staff meeting and then the elective teachers left to go visit other schools. I went to visit a lady who teaches the exact same thing as me... I observed 2 classes. Watching her made me feel like I am not doing as bad as I thought. She was pretty rude to some students and everyone was doing there own thing. A little crazy! A girl was chewing gum so she had to write "I will not chew gum in Family and Consumer Science class again" (or something like that) 50 times! Apparently if she does it again she has to sew her pj pants by hand! Holy Schmolies! My only rule is that they can't chew gum like a cow! And if they do they have to spit it out. Maybe I am too nice! I just wish my kids could have been there- maybe they would appreciate me a lot more! It was a good experience. (I am glad I spit out my gum before I walked into her classroom!! he he!)

The Amazing Race

The Amazing Race is back! I love this show. My Tuesday's are not complete without it! I seriously yell at my tv, hoping that the people racing can hear me! Love it! I haven't really decided who my favorite teams are yet but there are some that I will be more than okay if they don't win. The "Frosties" are annoying with all their screaming... calm down! Lake and Michelle... he is a jerk and needs to go home! The old couple... come on! How many stinking times did they walk past the clue box. Sad! I was glad John and Scott were ousted! They were just odd! I am sure it won't take long for me to decide what teams I love...
To be continued...
