This makes me laugh!

This is my future roommate- Elaine. This is my car. That is our Foof. We got it for $60. We tried to smoosh it in the backseat. That didn't work. We tried to smoosh it in the trunk. That didn't work. The girl we bought it from found the ropes for us and helped us tie it to our roof. We then drove through D.C. and 45 minutes down a major highway to buy another LoveSac. It was sooo funny watching the people pass us by. We might be buying another one next week! Can't wait to get them into our new apartment!
As we drove past the mall monuments I joked that we should take a picture of us on our beast in front of them... 2 days later, I look at the lovesac website and they are having a photo contest. Sheesh! Guess we will have to take it for a little drive.

I REALLY need help!

Okay- that was a little too stressful. I seriously need help with my inability to make decisions. I got approved to order the pens... so there I have sat for at LEAST 45 minutes (plus another 20 minutes this morning) trying to decide what to finally put on my pens. Holy Schmolies!! One would think my life depended on this decision. I wanted to go with the first one that all of you liked... but I thought- do I want them to think that all they really did get from my class was this pen. Then the other teacher I worked with like the "I survived Ms. Thomsen's class 2007" one. But the order takes 2-3 weeks so I was scared they wouldn't arrive before school ends. Are you beginning to see why I need help?? So then they have fun ones that say "This pen has been stolen from:" so I completed the sentence with "my favorite Family & Consumer Sciences teacher". Lame- I know. but I can give it out at any time. If there are even some left after I am gone, others will be able to use them. (especially because I ordered 410 of them!) I hope I made the best choice. Now I can carry on with the rest of my life. Yikes!! Anyone know a good therapist?

I Need Help! Speak any English....

ha ha! Had to put in that Ferris quote after reading my sister's blog. Okay- I really do need help though. So it is the end of the school year and we have money that needs to be spent. It is a lot harder than it sounds. I would LOVE to just take the money and pay off my car, but that would probably get me fired and arrested. So there is one account that must be spent on things the kids can take home... thus I decided to buy aprons for each of them to decorate. But still have money left over. I was searching the internet for ideas and came across pens you can personalize. I am trying to think of funny things to put on the pens that is where I need your help. So far all I have thought of is:

- I took FACS and all I got was this lousy pen!
-I survived Ms. Thomsen's FACS class 2007
-Got FACS? (like Got milk?... I just came up with that one!)

FYI- FACS stands for Family & Consumer Sciences.

Vote for your favorite or tell me something better. Maybe the winner will get a pen- or since there are only like 3 of you out there, maybe everyone that comments will get a pen. I don't think sharing would get me arrested or fired... do you?

Good Ol' South...

Last weekend I went to South Carolina with my friends Martha and Ben for my roommates wedding. It was a FUN trip. Here are some highlights...

1)Sonic. I LOVE Sonic. And for some reason, they don't have ANY within 1 1/2 hours of D.C. So we tried to take full advantage of everyone we passed- 3 to be exact. I got a 44 oz Strawberry Limeade Friday morning... and peed atleast 35 times in the next 2 days. Yikes.

2) Myrtle Beach. I have wanted to go to Myrtle Beach forever. So we went Friday morning- of course it was freezing and windy but we walked on the beach... until I had to find a bathroom. That was an adventure.

3) Piggly Wiggly. I have NEVER been so excited to go to a grocery store before. I had to buy something... southern. So I bought mix for Grits and Hush Puppies. I think I am in love with Hush Puppies.

4)Southern BBQ. Ben really wanted to try Southern BBQ. So when in Charleston, the visitors center lady told us about one... it was good but Ben was VERY disapointed. So after the wedding we went to Duke's in Walterboro. It was a real hole in the wall- but tasty- and all you can eat. That was where I had my first hush puppy. Yum... I want one now.

6) "South of the Border". It is south of the North Carolina border in South Carolina. I have NEVER seen so many billboards for one place. We decided to count them on the way home and there were 64. Within less than 100 miles. We all guessed before we started- I said 42, Ben said 37 and Martha said 100. We didn't stop- but next time- I will. Some of the billboards said:

Pedro's Weather Forecast: Chili today, hot tamale.
Keep America Green! Bring Money!
You Never Sausage a Place! You're Always a Wiener at Pedro's! **my favorite
Pedro's fire works! Does yours?

Sorry I didn't get a picture- next time.

7) and of course... the wedding. The temple was in Columbia and the reception was an hour away in Walterboro. The reception was one of the most interesting I have ever been to. It was an come and go- very small and simple- with a dance after. Ha ha. Good times. And good food. Her sister did all the food for a chocolate bar. Yum. Check out her blog for the yummy recipes.
